Neighbourhood Overview
Maple is an older neighborhood, with most detached and attached residences added in the past 20 to 50 years. The late 1800s and early 1900s era saw the construction of one-and-a-half storey, two-storey, and petite bungalows, brimming with character and charm, along mature, tree-lined streets. The remainder of the area is made up of established two-storey homes, split levels, bungalows, as well as a variety of semis and townhouses. Many of these properties have undergone extensive renovation and updates over the years. Maple also offers a rich selection of high-rise condominiums.
The neighborhood is abundant in parks. Beachway Park, the Waterfront Trail, and Spencer Smith Park, with their lakeside trails, attract visitors in all seasons. Beachway features a long sandy beach perfect for family fun, while Spencer Smith Park hosts various events and festivals year-round, including the Sound of Music Festival, Ribfest, and the Festival of Lights.
